Lesson 2: English Structure

We took a revision from our previous lecture about:

Do / Does in the Simple Present

Examples

  • I do my homework every day.
  • You do not (don’t) eat meat.
  • We do speak English in class.
  • They do not (don’t) live here.
  • He does his work on time.
  • She does not (doesn’t) like coffee.
  • It does rain a lot in winter.

Rule: Use does (not do) with he, she, it, and add -s to the main verb.

Yes / No Questions

  • Do you like tea? → Yes, I do. / No, I don’t.
  • Does she play football? → Yes, she does. / No, she doesn’t.
